Eyelash tinting

We suggest coming to your appointment without eye makeup. Don’t worry if you forget, though! Our Cerologists have got you covered and will wipe away whatever is needed.

A few other things to keep in mind:

• Before your appointment, make sure to remove false lashes and contact lenses.
• Avoid using waterproof mascara 48 hours before your procedure since it can leave behind unwanted residue.
• Avoid using oil-based makeup, makeup removers, or moisturizers before your appointment, as they can interfere with the tint’s ability to bond effectively with your lashes.

The eyelash tinting service takes approximately 30 minutes. Come in during your lunch break!

At Waxing the City, eyelash tinting is performed by applying a safe, semi-permanent dye to your lashes. Our Cerologists don’t just tint — they tailor. Expect nothing less than lash perfection designed just for you.

Here’s what to expect during your appointment:

1. Once you’ve arrived at the studio, your Cerologist will show you to your treatment room. Your Cerologist can answer any questions you may have, and they’ll help you determine what tint will best suit your complexion and desired look. 
2. The Cerologist will softly cleanse the eyes to remove any makeup or other residue.
3. They’ll then apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to cotton pads, then place the cotton pads under your eyelines. This acts as a protective barrier, keeping the dye from staining the skin.
4. The semi-permanent dye will be applied to the eyelashes. The Cerologist will let the tint set for a few minutes. For new clients, the Cerologist will do a patch test to assure the skin isn’t sensitive to the tint. 
5. Using cotton swabs, they’ll gently clean off the tint and flush the eyes if needed.
6. Admire your new darker, fuller-looking lashes!

Eyelash tints fade naturally and gradually after 3 to 5 weeks. Using oil-based face products (like makeup, makeup removers, or moisturizers) or swimming in chlorinated water may strip the color quicker. Your Cerologist will provide aftercare advice to help you maintain your tinted lashes.

For the first 24 hours after your eyelash tinting service, we recommend you avoid:

• Exposing your lashes to water — like in a shower, bath, or pool 
• Steam baths or saunas
• Rubbing your eyes
• Using oil-based products like makeup, makeup remover, or moisturizer

Following these tips allows the tint to fully set, ensuring lasting results. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal routine, though gentle handling and minimal rubbing will help extend the life of your tint.
